NEGATIVE IONIZATION & PRE-FILTER
Step one makes the additional steps even more effective. Negative ionization attracts particulates in the air and clumps them together for easy capture.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
Activated Carbon acts as a Pre-Filter for the HEPA. It is porous and effectively absorbs harmful gases & VOCs (volatile organic compounds). It also absorbs smoke and other ambient odors.
TRUE HEPA FILTER
This high efficiency particulate air filter is water-resistant polypropylene and engineered to capture over 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns in size. This includes viruses, bacteria, mold, etc.
PHOTO-CATALYTIC-OXIDATION(PCO)
Any pathogens that have made it this far are hit with UV light activated by a titanium dioxide catalyst. This results in the removal of viruses, bacteria, mold spores, and other airborne microorganisms.

- What kind of maintenance do they require?
The ActivePure Cell, UV-C Bulb and Beyond Filter should be replaced periodically. It is recommended to replace them every 12 - 24 months to maintain the effectiveness of the device.
- What makes ActivePure “active”?
ActivePure works "actively" by emitting safe and effective scrubbing molecules into the air that quickly seek and destroy pathogens in the air and on surfaces. Other technologies take a passive approach, requiring pathogens be pulled into an ineffective filter or through controversial technologies.
- How does it compare to a HEPA or MERV filter?
HEPA or MERV filters trap some but not all airborne particles when air is first brought in from the outside or recirculated. They cannot effectively reduce the spread of pathogens that are continuously released in occupied rooms through aerosols or droplets. Because they are passive systems, they must wait for airborne pathogens to come to them before being partially filtered. Even then, pathogens are not neutralized, they are merely trapped in the filter.
